Sayuko Kuroki

The meaning of the term is "unbarked lumber"

A member of the puppet play club. She is the one who invited Godai to join the club first. When she phoned Ikkoku-kan, she noticed that a young woman was the janitor (Kyoko, obviously) and sensed something between Godai and her. So as a joke, she and the other members of the club (all females except the president, who can fake a girl's voice) start phoning Ikkoku-kan where there's only one phone, which was in Kyoko's room. When Godai was in his fourth year, Kuroki arranged a Christmas play at Shienomi Day Care to pave a way for Godai to get a part-time job at the day care. She married Saotome, the president of the club, but apparently has not changed her surname yet or possibly Saotome changed his.

Note on japan character voice: in the TV series, Saeko Shimazu played Kuroki's voice. She's known for her part of Shinobu (Urusei Yatsura), Yuri (Dirty pair), Kodachi (Ranma 1/2), Masai (Gundam ZZ), Baron Ashura (CB Nagai), Ayase Megumi (Creamy Mami), Oohara Midori (City Hunter), Min (Dragonar), Miizu Mishutal (El Hazard), Madoka (Kimagure Orange Road [JUMP VIDEO]), Sayoko (Pelsia), Four Murasame (Z Gundam), Luna Rossa (Dancougar). In the movie, Ryoko Sakakibara took Shimazu-san's place. She did Ryuuzaki Reika (Ace o Nerae! 2), Azusa (Blue seed), Sylia Stingray (The Bubblegum Crisis), Asatani Mitsuko (Cat's Eye), Lady (Cobra), Reimi (God Bless Dancougar), Sirain (Devilman), Flore (God Mars), Hamaan Kahn (Gundam 0083), Madre di Madoka (Kimagure Orange Road), Reina (Megazone 23), Cushana (Nausicaa), Nagumo Shinobu (Patlabor), Karla (Lodoss War), Karura-oh (RG Veda), Neherenia (Sailor Moon), Misaki (Tenchi Muyo), Elle (Urusei Yatsura - Only You).
